Why PAT testing is so important?
PAT testing is the process of inspecting any portable electrical appliances in your workplace. This testing needs to be carried out by a competent person, such as a trained electrician from SES.
Each electrical appliance is examined and tested to make sure that they are safe to use. Quite often electrical defects cannot be seen by the naked eye, so a PAT tester will check things such as insulation integrity, earth continuity, excessive protective conductor current, incorrect polarity, and if the appliance has been fitted with an unsuitable fuse, and more.
Following the inspection and testing, our electrician will mark the appliance with either a pass or fail. Each appliance that passes the inspection will be marked with a pass sticker to show the appliance is safe for use. Any that fail will need to be fixed or replaced.
