John’s career in the electrical industry began in 1996 when he embarked on an apprenticeship with NG Bailey Ltd. Following completion of his apprenticeship and driven by a desire for new challenges and a passion for leadership, he transitioned to Lorne Stewart as a working electrical supervisor. Over the following 4 years, John played a pivotal role in delivering power upgrades and internal fit-outs for Barclays Bank across five sites.
In pursuit of further growth, John joined Holborn Projects as a Qualified Supervisor, overseeing nationwide electrical delivery for commercial comfort cooling solutions and backup power systems.
A family relocation brought him to London, where he took on the role of Construction Manager and HV/LV Appointed Person at Skanska, contributing to the successful completion of the £1bn prestigious Royal London Hospital project.
In 2010, with a wealth of experience and a vision for the future, John founded JVB Electrical Limited. This venture flourished, and over the followign 10 years expanding into JVB Plumbing and Heating, JVB Building Services, and eventually forming JVB Solutions. The company grew to employ 45 engineers and 8 office staff, with 27 vans serving over 17,000 customers. However, the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic led to the difficult decision to close JVB Solutions in 2022.
Through resilience and dedication, John emerged stronger, ready to channel his expertise into new ventures, including the founding of Sustainable Electrical Services Ltd.
His journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to customer excellence and innovation in the electrical industry.
